Laura Bryan’s article “Once Upon a Time: A Grimm Approach to Character Education” expresses a concern about the absence of characters with moral values with whom the children in the 21st century can identify. She describes the brothers Grimm fairy tales as more than just stories created with the purpose of entertain an audience but more about the moral laws. The ability they had of creating characters which whom children can identify and at the same time be able to imitate or follow their values. The main purpose of the brothers Grimm fairy tales was to teach children how to differentiate between good and evil, and that if you choose the way of evilness you cannot expect a good outcome. But if instead you choose the path of goodness at the end you will be compensated.
